Praise and prayer April-May 2010

Being Victorious in Christ

The Word of God tells us, especially in Ephs. 6: 10-18, that we are in a constant spiritual battle; we feel it daily in our walk with The Lord, but we need to remember that The Lord has won already. In col. 2: 14-15 Paul remind us that God has won the victory through Christ and reminds us what He has done on the cross. In this victory He disarmed the powers and authorities, and presents them in his triumphal parade. What a wonderful God we have, and what wonderful promises we have, so we can lean on Him, and on what He has done for us.

Kehilah Trip

We praise God for the opportunity we had to have an outing last Shabat, for the whole Kehilah and Kehilat Shar HaEmek. All together we were about 100 people. We travelled to Mt Tabor (Mt of transfiguration) and the area of the Jezreel valley, and to Mt Gilboa. It’s wonderful to see Biblical history come alive.

New Immigrants

We praise God for a number of New Immigrant families who have joined us, some with 4 to 5 children. Pray for them as they face the difficulties of settling down in a new country, especially with regard to work, housing, schooling, language, red tape, culture-shock etc.

Men’s Group

M. has started a men’s group which meets once a week on Fridays. So far we have seen positive results as the men are getting to know each other better, praying together and having more communication with each other.

Young Adults

Lately we restarted the Young Adults meeting, after a break of some time. The group is still in the process of being established so please continue to pray for the young adults group as it gets on its feet.

Leadership Team

We continue to meet as a team, please continue to pray for us, the leaders, for harmony, unity, wisdom and boldness as we lead the flock God has entrusted to our care. Remember M. too in your prayers, as he travels to the USA and Brazil on the 30th April where he will be preaching in various venues.

Single Mothers

We have about ten single mothers in our Congregation. Single mothers are carrying a huge responsibility and a huge burden on their shoulders; their needs far exceed the obvious needs of financial provision etc’.  Part of our staff are working with them to help and support  them financially, emotionally, spiritually, providing free time away from the children, providing  for the children’s  needs (which far exceed usual needs), helping in planning ahead, and in many other ways.

Please pray for us for wisdom to do all of the above according to God’s will, pray for trustworthy and capable people to make them selves available for this service, and pray for God’s provision for the mothers and their children.

Equipping people for service

Yossi would like to hold a Seminar, and invite special speakers. The purpose of the seminar is to add skills to those involved in ministering to people, give them direction for work and service in the Kehilah; especially in the area of helping people with difficult problems.

Teachers

We continue to pray for more teachers for Shabbat School, who are able to lead young children, as our Shabbat school is growing due to new families coming in. We have people capable of teaching but who don’t speak Hebrew well enough. Pray also for those who are struggling with the Hebrew language.

Ronit

We praise and thank God that Ronit has recovered amazingly well after her surgery, she still has a few minor medical procedures, but is doing well.

Blessings, in Yeshua

Praise and prayer November 2009

A time of changes

In mid October we dedicated our daughter Congregation – Shaar HaEmek. A few families moved there to start the new Congregation, which left us in some shortage. One of our greatest prayer requests is that we could quickly fill in the gap created with the departure of Shaar HaEmek; that more people could take upon themselves the jobs, the tasks and chors, that should be taken (Shabbat school teachers, kitchen ministry, more people for the Praise Ministry, translation etc’). Please continu to remember the new leadership team; we try to meet biweekly for prayer and discussions about Congregation affairs. Continue reading

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7)

Shalom to all our dear brothers and sisters who ask about, support and pray for “HaDerech” Congregation. War is still raging in the south of Israel as we write this letter, and we are all praying and following the situation, especially remembering believers on both sides of the conflict. We can identify with residents of the south who live within the range of the rockets, and are watching carefully in case another front develops in the north (Katusha rockets have landed in Nahariya and Kiryat Shmona). From experience, such times can strengthen our faith and remind us of our utter dependence as individuals and as a people upon God our Creator. Continue reading

Update from “Kehilat Haderech” (“The Way Congregation”)
Karmiel – October 2008

“Grow in grace and in the knowledge of out Lord and Savior Jesus the Messiah. To him be the glory both now and forever more, Amen”
(2 Peter 3:18)

Greetings to all of our brothers and sisters who are interested in, ask about, support and pray for “Kehilat Haderech ”.

The summer with all its activities is over and we have returned to the not-so-routine routine and are praying for grace, direction, and humility in our walk   with the Lord as a congregation and as individuals.  We desire to bring glory to His Name in all of our attitudes and actions.

In the last year, many have joined the congregation.  At present, our numbers have stabilized and at our Shabbat gatherings just over a hundred people regularly take part, among whom are a considerable number of youth and children. Continue reading
