Yossi Ovadia pastors Kehilat Haderech (Congregation of The Way) located in the city of Karmiel, Israel. Karmiel (not to be confused with Carmel, which is on the coast near Haifa) is located in the north, in the Galilee region, between Haifa and the Sea of Galilee.
Yossi is a Sabra (a native Israeli). He became a believer in 1983 while he was in England. Several years ago, the Lord led him to shephard a congregation in Karmiel, where he pastors other Israelis and many newer Russian immagrants. Yossi has a great desire to bring the gospel to his own people in the language and context that they will best understand. This should be easy, since Hebrew is the language of the Hebrew Scriptures, but it is also very challenging, as most Israelis think that Yeshua (Jesus) is okay for the Gentiles, but that He is not for them.
Pray for Yossi and his congregation that the Lord would continue to open the doors to reach more of their neighbors with the gospel. Pray, that as times are difficult, more people would seek after the God of their fathers and be huingry to hear the Word of God, and see the salvation that awaits them in theor blessed Messiah, Yeshua.
